| Course Description |
This unit reflects the advanced research training components of the Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) research program. Students develop advanced research skills during the three years of the program, evidenced by the production of a major thesis (at the end of the program). In particular, students develop independent research skills in clinical psychology coupled with the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the development of the required clinical competencies necessary for independent clinical practice. |
| Indicative Assessment | Assessment is multi-faceted to reflect the combined nature of the program which involves each of research, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills. Both research and theoretical knowledge will be assessed in traditional ways - research will be assessed by independent external examiners and theoretical knowledge by a combination of assignments and formal examinations. Clinical skills must be developed in accordance with clearly specified and nationally recognized practical performance objectives - they will be assessed by close and continuing observations of clinical activities by fully competent clinical practitioners. |
