| Course Description |
This course aims to extend the students' ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in spoken and written Spanish. This includes the study of Spanish grammar, vocabulary and fixed expressions. The course also introduces students to contemporary theatre and current affairs issues in Spanish-speaking societies. |
| Learning Outcomes | On successful completion, the students' communicative competence should enable them to function effectively in unpredictable situations of a Spanish-speaking environment. The students' communicative skills should have reached an intermediate-advanced level that will enable them to function effectively and confidently in Spanish. Students should be able to understand and use most of the grammatical structures when expressing themselves in oral and written form. Furthermore, the students will be able to read and perform theatre texts and to engage in debate about cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world. |

A mixture of tests (45%), assignments (50%), performance and participation in class (5%). |

3.5 hours of classes per week plus at least 6.5 hours of regular work per week outside class. |
