| Course Description |
This course is directed at students interested in quantitative methods of marketing research. The aim of this course is to explore multivariate techniques used in modern marketing practice. Emphasis will be placed on case studies of marketing practice and on the practical application of the methods discussed. Topics to be drawn from: analysis of variance; regression analysis; principal components analysis; discriminant analysis; canonical correlation analysis; factor analysis; cluster analysis; multi-dimensional scaling; conjoint analysis. STAT8020 students will be expected to attend additional lectures which will cover a more detailed examination of the statistics involved in the multivariate analysis techniques mentioned above and possibly additional topics in the analysis of multivariate distributions. |
| Learning Outcomes | Intermediate level treatment of multivariate distributions and analysis technques. Topics include: principal components and factor analysis, multivariate analysis of variance and co-variance, disciminant analysis and classification techniques. |

Assumed Knowledge and Required Skills |
This course is offered as part of the Master of Applied Statistics degree and assumes knowledge of statistics equivalent to that required to gain admission to the Masters of Applied Statistics degree.
