Pacific Studies Major

Add Pacific Studies to my interest list
Offered By ANU College of Asia and the Pacific

Because the value of languages only arises with an understanding of the context in which they are used, students will also choose a Contextual major. Students doing the Pacific Languages Major, whilst it is not mandatory to do so, are encouraged to choose the Pacific Studies Contextual Major.

Requirements

Each Contextual major is made up of eight courses comprising of:

  • two introductory level courses:
    • One of these must be ASIA1025 Individual and Society in Asia and the Pacific A
  • two core courses from the Pactific Studies Contextual Major:
  • four other courses can be selected  from a broad range of options.
The list of courses that count towards this major is indicative only, as students are encouraged to design their own major, with input and advice from an academic advisor.
