| Course Description |
This course enables students to expand their knowledge and exploration of glass kiln casting and cold working methods through a proposal-based project. Students define a self-directed project in consultation with their lecturer, which extends from their previous glass studies and includes a technical assignment. The proposal outlines the thematic, technical and contextual area of investigation for a body of kiln cast work in glass. Mould making techniques and glass technologies are addressed through demonstrations and class discussions, and students increase their familiarity with processes and equipment. Occupational Health and Safety instruction is a key component of the syllabus. Note: Places in this course are limited. Students are advised to enrol as early as possible. |
