| Course Description |
Sculpture: concepts, materials, processes 1 introduces students to basic construction skills, techniques and processes. Students will create works that explore the formal properties of constructed objects and develop a focused theme-based project. There will be limits to the scale of works which can be made and the palette of materials and processes that can be investigated due to time constraints and teacher availability. Conceptual and thematic issues are addressed and occupational health and safety instruction is included. Note: Places in this course are limited. Students are advised to enrol as early as possible. |

Portfolio of studio work (80%) [LOs 1 – 3] Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%). [LOs 1 – 3] Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress. |

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice and other research. |
