Course Description

This course aims to provide an overview of the theories and practices of management in organisational contexts.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will understand:

1. the history of management thought,

2. management roles,

3. management functions,

4. planning and strategy,

5. organisation structure and design,

5. control, and

6. process improvement in organisations.

Indicative Assessment

Assessment in this course will comprise of items such as in-class tests, group projects or assignments, class presentations and a final examination.  the performance of the studetns will be moderated by the supervising college.

Workload

Classes will meet three times weekly for two-hour sessions.
