| Course Description |
This course introduces you to the Australian legal system and the law regulating business activities. Particular focus is given to the law of contract. The course also covers the laws relating to particular types of business contracts such as sales of goods and insurance contracts. Aspects of property law and negligence are also covered. |

| Workload |
There is a large volume of material to be covered in this course. For most of you this will be a new discipline of study and you may need to spend some time in the first few weeks learning about legal method. You will need to attend lectures (2 hours per week), tutorials (1 hour per week), and also spend a number of hours each week reading the text, and any additional reading materials provided. Additionally, preparation of the assignment will require substantial work involving research of primary materials (judicial decisions, statutes) and secondary materials (academic sources).
