| Course Description |
This course is designed to develop an understanding of spectroscopy and its application in the elucidation of the structures of molecular compounds. Topics to be covered in the course will include aspects of infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Honours Pathway Option (HPO) Completion of 6 additional lectures at a more advanced level. It is expected that all students in the PhB (Hons) or direct entry Honours degree programs enrolled in CHEM2201 will complete the HPO. Note: Summer session is online during 1 Jan-31 March. |
