| Course Description |
This course offers a suite of advanced laboratory exercises in synthetic organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry designed to further develop the synthetic chemistry skills learnt in CHEM3061. The development of skills in the handling of air-sensitive compounds using the Schlenk technique and the purification of compounds using chromatographic techniques will be emphasised. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. work in a laboratory in organic, organometallic and coordination chemistry to a professional level, demonstrating effective laboratory safety and etiquette, especially in the areas of handling of air sensitive reagents, chromatographic techniques and spectroscopic identification |
