Course Description The student will prepare a research paper of 10000 words on an approved topic. The topic for the paper will be selected in consultation with a supervisor. The supervisor will meet with the student at regular intervals to discuss the research process, to offer feedback and advice, and monitor progress.
Learning Outcomes With the completion of the research paper the student will have read deeply in and given thought to a particular field of classical world studies. He/she will also have developed skills in collecting, reading, analysing and evaluating evidence; formulating an argument; and writing up the discussion in clear and readable prose.
Indicative Assessment The paper, to be examined by two assessors, is 100% of the assessment
Workload One hour per week with supervisor plus sixteen hours research and writing
