| Course Description |
This course comprises of an introduction to the fundamental principles of digital imaging and the associated file types and media formats. Students will gain an overview of principle software programs, underlying technologies and contemporary digital media issues and will explore the theory and practice of visual communication. |
| Indicative Assessment |
Assessment is by a series of assignments and a final presentation of the major project to the Viva Examination panel. |
| Workload |
All sessions take place in a computer laboratory: 3 hours of seminar / studio practice per week Students are expected to do at least an extra 4 - 6 hours of independent studio practice each week |
| Requisite Statement |
Students selected for this stream within the BA(Digital Arts) program will be guaranteed a place. BA(New Media Arts) students will be offered available places following interview by CNMA academic staffing during the Orientation Week. |
