Course Description

Written work at an advanced level on selected literary and journalistic texts and films. The aim of the course is to develop students' autonomy as mature speakers of French, and in the Oral and Culture class enhance students' capacity to engage in debate about various aspects of French society and cultures.

Learning Outcomes

The objective is to develop students' autonomy as mature speakers of French. Students will also be able to analyse and write work in appropriate discursive register at an advanced level on selected literary and journalistic texts as well as multimedia material. Students will have a greater understanding of key aspects of French cultures through constant exposure to authentic audio visual and textual material.

Indicative Assessment

Oral and Culture presentation and test (40%), written assignments and test (30%), and one literature essay and test (30%).

3.5 hours of classes per week plus project work
