Course Description

This course continues the study of Ancient Greek grammar and vocabulary. As students progress through the readings prescribed for the semester they meet a variety of Greek authors including Aristophanes and Demosthenes. As they read and discuss the texts they will reinforce and extend their working vocabulary. There will be practice of the more advanced grammatical principles that they encounter. These are essential steps in learning Ancient Greek.

Learning Outcomes Students will be able to read at sight some limited passages of Ancient Greek; and, with the aid a dictionary, they will be able to read a great range of Greek texts.
Indicative Assessment

Final examination (45%); tests (25%); exercises completed during the semester (30%)
