Course Description

The course draws on pre-modern, modern, or contemporary materials, as appropriate, with a view to developing students' research and bibliographic skills in advanced studies in the humanities and social sciences.

Learning Outcomes

These courses are mainly for postgraduate and Honours students on an individual guidance basis. Students may choose any relevant reading materials to their thesis and read them through with an instructor. When there are a few students in class, the same reading materials may be chosen by them to read together in one class per week. All classes are entirely conducted in Japanese.

Indicative Assessment

Periodic assignment work (totaling 50%); final exam (40%) and self-assessment (10%).
