Course Description This is the code for students who are doing 12 units of sub-thesis towards the Master of Applied Linguistics, which has a total of 24 units.
Learning Outcomes On satisfying the expectations of the course, you should be able to, under supervision, write a well-structured, well-supported and correctly referenced thesis on a topic of your choice.
Indicative Assessment The amount of work for this course is equivalent to half (12 units) of the total work required for a sub-thesis of 20,000 - 25,000 words (24 units).
Workload

The meeting schedule for this course will be worked out in consultation with the student. It will generally be 1-2 hours per fortnight.

Requisite Statement Before enrolling in this course students would normally have completed Part A of the Masters of Applied Linguistics.
Consent Required Prior to enrolling in this course students need to discuss the content of this course with their supervisor and the convenor of the Masters of Applied Linguistics Program.
Prescribed Texts Students will create their own list of readings in consultation with their supervisor.
