| Course Description |
Students undertake a research project in mathematics under the supervision of a member of staff. Credit value for this course can range between 6 and 24 units. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. Explain the fundamental concepts of a chosen research topic and its role in modern mathematics and applied contexts. |
| Indicative Assessment | Assessment will be based on a student-customised set of assessment tasks relevant to the research project: it usually includes an essay in the form of an in-depth survey article. |
