| Course Description |
This course enables students to develop in music theory, aural, keyboard harmony and other foundational music literacy skills to a point at which they are equipped to engage with most of the academic and practical music courses offered at undergraduate level. The course is particularly designed to be taken flexibly - with students working intensively, or part-time, or online. Students will negotiate a specific package of skills to be developed based on their needs, their prior experience, and the focus of their other studies in music. |

A portfolio of 10 exercises demonstrating attainment of the skills listed under learning outcomes 1-4 above. (100%) |
| Workload |
c. 35 hours of total contact time (intensive, online, or over a semester) with a further 80 hours of individual working time on average. Students negotiate a package of face-to-face, online, and independent study modes dependent on their needs. |
