Course Description

The course is about the theory and practice of corruption, and the design of agencies and campaigns to combat it. It is designed and  taught with the New South Wales independent Commission Against Corruption, the first such agency created in Australia.It draws on research done in the Crawford School on Corruption in the Pacific with the NGO Transparency International. It also draws on research done by the ICAC on the effectiveness of its prevention activities, and on anti-corruption expertise within in the Federal government.

Demonstrated ability to derive practical conclusions from different theories about the causes of corruption

Demonstrated ability to design a workplace corruption prevention plan

Normally 5 or 6 full days in Canberra

Preparatory work: several days reading and preparation of report

The teaching style assumes participants will have experience of working in the public sector. Many of the participants also have experience of working in anti-corruption agencies, including police.

Delivery Mode:

Intensive: normally 5 or 6 full days in Canberra, plus preparatory work and time to complete assignments afterwards.

Please note that in 2012 the course starts on 13 September, but there is a pre-course assignment due on 3 September.
