One sub-thesis of 24,000 words on a topic in history to be negotiated with a supervisor and approved by the program convenver.  Two courses will be created in the 2012 to facilitate this structure: a two-semester part-time course (12 units) to be offered annually and a one-semester full-time course (24 units) to be offered each semester.
