The Masters of Natural Hazards and Disasters is jointly delivered by the College of Asia and the Pacific and the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The program presents a multi-disciplinary approach to the understanding of the nature and impact of natural hazards, disasters, and their interaction with human populations. It is intended to provide people involved in the management of natural hazards and disasters, and other interested individuals, in the Asia-Pacific region, and in Australia, with an understanding of the most up to date ideas on the causes of natural hazards, disasters and how they impact on human societies. In addition, case studies will highlight strategies to mitigate impacts and reduce vunerability and disaster losses, such as emergency measures, disaster plans, relief and rehabilitation.
