| Course Description |
This course introduces students to skills, techniques, technologies and processes relevant to kiln cast glass. Students develop an individual response to three set projects that explore mould-making techniques, kiln casting and cold finishing processes. Contextual, thematic and conceptual issues are addressed through class discussions and independent research. Occupational Health and Safety instruction is a key component of the syllabus. The course is studio-based. Note: Places in this course are limited. Students are advised to enrol as early as possible. |

Portfolio of studio work and visual journal (80%) [Learning Outcomes 1 – 3] Journal (20%) [Learning Outcomes 1 – 3] Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress. |

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice and other research. |
