Course Description

Enameling 4 is based on an independent work proposal to explore colour concepts on metal. Access to the program of studio theory is offered to examine the historical and contemporary contexts of enameling. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. competently utilize a range of higher level skills relevant to the discipline, in response to set tasks
  2. independently explore the potential of material/s
  3. experiment with the application of concepts and processes
  4. critically engage with historical and theoretical contexts
Indicative Assessment

Portfolio of studio work (80%) [LOs 1, 2, 4]

Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%). [LOs 1 and 3]

Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.

Workload

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and in excess of 4 hours per week independent studio practice.
