In this course, students extend their studies by developing individual themes and work methods whilst pursuing an independent study program in consultation with the course lecturer. Further technical programs and/or demonstrations may be designed and introduced to respond to the requirements of an individual study program. Occupation Health and Safety instruction is included.

Note: Places in this course are limited. Students are advised to enrol as early as possible.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate through research outcomes your increased level of skills in techniques, processes and technologies
2. Select and integrate information from various sources and experiment with materials
3. Formulate concepts in the development of creative research practice
4. Describe, evaluate, and communicate historical and theoretical contexts relevant to creative research practice

Portfolio of studio work (80%) [LOs 1 – 4]

Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%). [LOs 1 – 4]

Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice and other research.
