| Indicative Assessment |
Students will be required to show evidence of satisfactory progress at their host institution. They must also pass the various components of their research essay and pass the return interview/ presentation and language test. Failure in any of these components will lead to failure in the Year in China program Students are reminded to collect their Chinese Academic Transcripts from the host university and bring home with them to Australia; this avoids unnecessary delays in results |

Available only to students majoring in Chinese in the Bachelor of Asia Pacific Studies or the Bachelor of Languages. |

| Requisite Statement |
Students who start their Chinese language studies with Spoken Chinese1 and Written Chinese 1 need to have completed 6 courses in their Chinese language major, as well as at least six courses in their contextual major. Selection will be based on a range of factors including academic record, demonstrated intellectual and emotional maturity, and ability to serve as a good ambassador for the ANU and the School of Culture, History and Languages. As a rule, applicants must demonstrate a high credit average in courses completed as part of the Bachelor of Asia Pacific Studies or the Bachelor of Languages. A Distinction average in all Chinese language courses is highly desirable Students must pass both the school-level and the region-level selection processes before they are officially accepted into the program |
