This course builds on the knowledge and experience acquired in Sound Art 2.

In this course, a project is designed to explore strategies and applications for sound in diverse contexts such as exhibitions, installations, public spaces and other media. The aim of this course is to explore the relation between sound and other art contexts. Occupation Health and Safety instruction is included.

Note: Places in this course are limited. Students are advised to enrol as early as possible.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate creative control of selected techniques, technologies and equipment used in sound art
2. demonstrate further creative analysis and exploration of materials and processes currently employed in audio media
3. identify and develop personal topics for individual research
4. show a critical awareness of historical and theoretical contexts relevant to your project

Visual Diary/Blog (20%) [Learning Outcomes 1 - 4]

Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice and other research.
