| Course Description |
In Furniture Design 4, studio investigation introduces opportunities for students to explore individual approaches to furniture design within a project-based structure. Higher-level skills, techniques, processes and occupational health and safety principles are increasingly developed. Critical thinking and creative problem solving are encouraged and applied to individual projects. Studio theory contextualizes the student’s study within the broader context of art and design. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course. |

Portfolio of studio work (80%) [Learning Outcomes 1 – 4] Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%) [Learning Outcomes 2, 4] Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress. |

12 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice. |
