| Course Description |
FINM1001 Foundations of Finance is designed to familiarise students with components of the financial system, providing them with introductory exposure to financial transactions, institutions and markets including money markets, stock markets, foreign exchange markets, derivative markets and contracts. Thereafter, it introduces the three basic ideas underpinning finance, namely: The time value of money; Diversification; and, Arbitrage. The course provides students with a solid foundation that is subsequently built upon in units including FINM2001 Corporate Finance, FINM2002 Derivatives and FIN2003 Investments. |
