Course Description This course provides students with an opportunity to undertake guided systematic study in a relevant area of interest in more depth. Over the course of two semesters, the student completes a short thesis.
Learning Outcomes

When successfully completed, students will have developed an advanced understanding both of central and current issues in a chosen area of professional and applied ethics, and produced a substantive piece of work to guide further study.

Indicative Assessment One 15-20,000 word thesis/essay over the course of two semesters.
Workload Students will, in consultation with the convener and relevant staff, pick a topic of study for the unit. The convener and relevant staff will provide a reading list to direct the students study appropriately. The student will then meet regularly with staff to discuss readings, and plan their thesis.
Course Classification(s) SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.
