| Course Description |
The course introduces students to basic numeracy skills inclduing a revision of basic mathematical concepts, geomtry, graphing, basic statistics and an introduction to algebra. |
| Learning Outcomes |
At the completion of this course students will be able to: 1. conduct basic mathematical operations. 2. understand and apply basic statistics. 3. describe and communication information using basic statistical techniques, including graphs. 4. Show a basic understanding of algebra. |
| Indicative Assessment |
1. continuous assessment of short mathematical exercises on a weekly basis 2. two short quizzes 3. a 500 word report using basic statistical techniques. |
| Workload |
Students will deveote 15 hours per week in face-to-face and out of class activities for the ten weeks of this course. |
