(a) Reading of graded cultural texts
(b) written composition
(c) intermediate conversation and discussion

Learning Outcomes

By completing this unit the student will be able to

  • increase the proficiency of spoken and written Thai
  • increase oral fluency
  • build on understanding of Thai structure and discourse
  • increase the awareness of and understanding of Thai culture and society as well the culture and society of Thailand's neighbouring countries
  • increase your understanding of and interest in some contemporary issues in Thailand
Indicative Assessment

Oral tests during the semester (40%), written assignments (40%), written mid-semester and final exam (20%).

Workload

Four hours per week.
