Course Description Historical perspective on telecommunications; overview of networks e.g. architecture, protocols and cellular; telephone systems such as PSTN, ISDN and TDM; Cellular mobile technology; wired computer networks (ethernet, OSI, switched network topologies etc.); Queueing theory; wireless computer networks such as Bluetooth and Wifi; ad hoc networks.
