Course Description	This course builds on the material introduced in INFS7040 Electronic Commerce for Managers by covering the strategic development and use of Business IT systems and processes in organisations and business enterprises. Different Internet business and revenue generation models are examined in some detail from executive and managerial viewpoints. Topical issues such as the organizational enterprise architecture and business process management/modelling implications raised by e-commerce/e-business/e-government, trust in an online environment, supply chain and customer relationship management systems, e-procurement and e-marketing systems, legacy information systems, mobile commerce systems, content management, and "e-strategy" development and managerial implementation (including executive judgement) are also covered in the course. An in-depth research report is required as part of the assessment.
Learning Outcomes	Upon completion of this course you should be able to: the interactions of organizations with their external business partners, especially the flows of resources between the organizations and their partners transaction cycles in organizations, and the resource flows that connect the transaction cycles to form a value chain conceptual modeling constructs in general and the constructs of the ResourcesEventsAgents Enterprise Ontology in particular procedures for converting conceptual models into logical relational models and then into physical relational databases using Microsoft Access information retrieval/querying a relational database, particularly Microsoft Access risks and controls associated with business processes and enterprise software systems
Indicative Assessment	Seminar participation 15% Assignments 15% Final Examination 70% All components of the above assessment are compulsory and must be submitted. You must achieve at least 50% for the final examination component to be eligible for an automatic pass grade in this course.
Workload	3 hours per week plus private study time.
