Course Description

Students work with a native speaker of a previously undescribed language, writing papers on some aspect of the grammar or phonology of the language. Instruction in the methodology of field-work and ethical considerations.

Indicative Assessment

Report on phonology (30%) and report on some other aspect of linguistic structure (70%).

13 classes in a weekly block of 3 hours duration
