Course Description

Managerial effectiveness requires competencies ranging from quantitative analysis through to self management, communication and teamwork skills and leadership. 

Learning Outcomes

The course recognises that managerial effectiveness requires competencies ranging from problem solving through to self management, communication, teamwork and leading change. Management students need to develop these competencies, not just for their post-degree careers, but to get the most value from the degree program itself. The course will focus on assessing, understanding and strengthening/developing these key leadership skills.

  • Leadership case study 20%
  • Group presentation 20%
  • Individual assignment - learning project 30%
  • Exam 30%
Workload  5 x 4 hour class, 2x 8 hour class(not per week, entire term)

At least an average of 65% (or equivalent) in the final two years of an Australian undergraduate degree.
