Degree Structure
Two interdisciplinary (8000 series) core courses (6 units each; total 12 units):

Two language courses (6000 series) (6 units each ? total 12 units) selected from Faculty of Asian Studies language offering at a level based on placement testing. Students planning to go on to the Master of Arts in Asian Studies are required to achieve a minimum of intermediate level language skill, prior to entry to that degree program. Students assessed with a current language skill at intermediate level or better, may request exemption from the language requirement. If exemption is agreed, students will be permitted to take two elective courses in-lieu.
Four electives (6 units each ? total 24 units). Students planning to select the MA(AS) option may elect two additional language courses to ensure the minimum requirement of intermediate level language skill, necessary for entry to that degree program:
