Degree Structure

The Master of Public Health program consists of 48 units of coursework. 18 units will be made up of compulsory courses. 30 units consist of graduate level elective courses approved by the course convenor.

The Core Courses are as follows:

  • POPH8100 Fundamentals of Epidemiology (6 units)
  • CHMD8004 Qualitative methodologies for health research (6 units)
  • MEDI8203 Introduction to Health Policy and Administration (6 units)

Electives may be selected from most courses offered within the ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment with approval of the ANU Master of Public Health Course Convener.  The Convener can also approve, in consultation with the Dean, courses undertaken at other universities.
