French Honours

Admission requirements

The requirements for entry into single Honours in French are: 

1. Completion of the requirements of a Bachelor pass degree in an Arts area.

2. Completion of a French major (42 units) and a further 3 later year courses (18 units).  For students who have undertaken the Major for beginners (introductory), these would normally include FREN3009.

3. Normally a Distinction average across all required later year courses.

FREN4005F  French IV Honours (full time)
FREN4005P  French IV Honours (part time)

 

Combined Honours

The requirements for entry into combined Honours in French are: 

1. Completion of the requirements of a Bachelor pass degree in an Arts area.

2. Completion of a French major (42 units) and a further later year course (6 units).  For students who have undertaken the Major for beginners (introductory), this would normally include FREN3009.

3. Normally a Distinction average across all required later year courses. 

Combined Honours will normally consist of a coursework component and a thesis.  The specifics of each program will be negotiated by the disciplinary Convenors, in consultation with the student.
