| Course Description |
These courses will introduce students to the history of anthropology and its fundamental concerns, focusing on some of the classic texts in the discipline. Fundamentals in Social Anthropology I will normally consider the development of anthropology from the 19th century to about the 1950s. Fundamentals in Social Anthropology II will examine developments after 1950, leading to present day issues. Considerable attention will be given to the written presentation of ideas. |
