Course Description This course is the further written component of a one-year intensive beginners program in Modern Standard Chinese.
Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students will have an active knowledge of a set of about 800 Chinese characters, and will have a sound working knowledge of the grammar of Modern Standard Chinese.

Indicative Assessment

In-class performance (20%)

Weekly take-home writing exercises (20%)

Mid-semester examination (20%)

Final written examination (40%).
