| Course Description |
This course, with Modern Chinese 6, is designed to enable students to reach advanced levels of competence in reading, speaking and writing modern Chinese. A wider range of texts will be read and discussed in Chinese. There will be a study of selected aspects of Chinese grammar. |

Assignment: 20%, mid-term examination: 15%, oral examination: 15%, final examination: 50%. Graduate students attend joint classes with undergraduates but may expect more rigorous assessment and additional assignment work, tailored to the graduate students’ interests. |
