Course Description Students will select an approved topic from a range of classical world themes (historical, literary, or cultural) in consultation with the convener.
Learning Outcomes With the completion of the seminar the student will have read deeply in and given a thought to a particular field of classical world studies. He/she will also have developed skills in collecting, reading, analysing and evaluating evidence; formulating an argument; presenting it orally to a group of scholars; and writing up the discussion in clear and readable prose.
Indicative Assessment

50% essays (two x 3000 words)

Examination (50%)

Workload Weekly meetings with convener plus fourteen hours reading, research and writing.  A language component may be included (one hour).
