Course Description

This course is not offered in 2009. 

This course involves the preparation of a research paper suitable for submission to a demographic or related journal.  A supervisor and an adviser are appointed to guide the student through substantive issues of the paper.

Learning Outcomes To be able to prepare a research paper suitable for submission to a demographic or related journal.
Indicative Assessment Students are required to present a work-in-progress seminar about halfway through the semester, which provides an opportunity for discussion and feedback, and is part of the total assessment.
Workload There is a bi-weekly meeting of one and a half hours to provide academic guidance on the form and format of the paper.
Course Classification(s) SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.
