Course Description

This subject will introduce students to the sills and knowledge required to research and develop character from script interpretation and workshop scenarios. The learner will apply acting skills including use of voice, movement and costume in performance.

Learning Outcomes

On satisfying the  requirements of this course students should be able to

  1. Research and develop a character from a range of script and/or workshop scenarios.
  2. Apply acting skills to realise a character in performance.
  3. Evaluate Acting performance
  4. Collaborate with team to develop and perform theatrical productions.
Indicative Assessment

Final performance assessed by Course Convenor (50%), documentation of creative process including weekly journal and final reflective/evaluative report (50%).

Workload

1x3 hour workshop performance session for 12 weeks, and participation in theatre production including appropriate development and rehearsal time.
