| Course Description |
This course explores ways in which the body has been represented in literature, film and performance. The course explores how representations of the body are used as critiques of our society; how cultural representations have changed our understanding of the body and the ways in which we live and think about the world. Texts will range from the early modern period to the contemporary and include works by John Coetzee,Mary Shelley, Merlinda Bobis, Orlan and Stellarc. Films include Alien Resurrection and Titus. |
