Course Description
|
Intelligent Manufacturing Systems is a blended course offered as part of the Engineering Hubs and Spokes, a linkage between the University of South Australia and The Australian National University (ANU).
The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills in the design and analysis of manufacturing systems. On completion of this course the student should be able to identify and analyse the performance of different manufacturing systems; introduce new procedures to improve the productivity of existing manufacturing systems; design and implement manufacturing systems; apply Group Technology and Cellular Manufacturing technique to manufacturing system design; and evaluate the benefits and costs of manufacturing systems.
You will also develop higher order collaboration and communication skills through online team work across two institutions, the University of South Australia and the Australian National University. This can lead to a more flexible, networked and thus more employable graduate, particularly as industry and its management are increasingly becoming physically separated.
