Course Description

This course aims to equip students to understand and use French at an advanced level. A variety of texts, literary and journalistic, are used for comprehension, oral and written work.

Learning Outcomes The aims of this course are to develop and refine writing and oral presentation skills in French, and to invite further reflection on selected French cultural topics. Students will develop their spoken and written expression as well as reading and listening skills through a range of practices based on the study of literary texts and a variety of readings and audio-visual material on French history, politics, culture and society.
Indicative Assessment

Oral and Culture presentation and test (40%), written assignments and test (30%) and one literature essay and test (30%).

Workload

3.5 hours of classes per week plus project work
