Course Description

Further practice in spoken Indonesian with special emphasis on the mastery of the most frequent verb-forms and a practical command of four commonly occurring conversational topics/situations. A start is made on developing reading skills.
NOTE: The prerequisite for entry to Indonesian 2A is at least a high pass in Indonesian 1B, or permission of the coordinator of the Program.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course students will be able to participate effectively in basic conversations on a number of everyday topics.

Indicative Assessment

Classroom performance and participation (15%), Mid-course oral examination (20%), End of course oral examination (30%), four written tests (totalling 20%), four quizzes (totalling 10%), attendance (5%). Less than 50% attendance will result in course failure regardless of other marks.

 

Workload

Five class hours a week.
