| Course Description |
Students will attend and participate in seminars on contemporary health policy and health systems research topics given by the Convenor and invited guest speakers, including fellows in the ANU Centre for Health Stewardship and the Menzies Centre for Health Policy. In addition, students will present a seminar themselves on a health policy or health systems issue. Seminars will be open to interested members of the public. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On completion of the course students will be able to: 1.Understand a range of contemporary health policy issues. 2.Be able to participate in discussion of health policy and system issues. 3.Be able to analyse the relationship of health policy matters to public health. 4.Be able to research and incisively report on contemporary health policy issues. 5.Be able to present to public forums on health policy and health system issues, and lead discussion on the issue. |

Attendance at three quarters of the seminars:10%: Participation in seminar discussion: 10% Two 500 word policy briefs: 10% each Presentation of seminar: 20% Preparation of health policy or health system issue paper 4,000 words: 50% |

This course will prepare students for participation in health policy formation. Students will usually have completed MEDI8203 Introduction to health policy and administration.
