| Course Description |
Students will attend and participate in seminars on contemporary public health topics given by the Convenor and invited guest speakers. In addition, students will present a seminar themselves on a contemporary public health issue. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On completion of the course students will be able to:
1.Understand a range of contemporary public health issues. 2.Be able to participate in discussion of contemporary public health issues. Be able to mobilize quantitative and qualitative research skills to analyse public health issues. 3.Be able to analyse the relationship of health policy matters to public health. 4.Be able to research and incisively report on contemporary public healthissues. 5.Be able to present to public forums on public health issues, and lead discussion on the issue. |

Attendance at three quarters of the seminars:5%: Participation in seminar discussion: 10% Two short briefs: 10% each Presentation of seminar: 15% Public health issue paper 4,000 words: 50% |
